Joint World Heritage Centre/ IUCN Reactive Monitoring Mission to Ethiopia concerning Lake Turkana National Parks
At its 38th session, the World Heritage Committee welcomed the invitation by the State Party of Ethiopia for a joint World Heritage Centre / IUCN reactive monitoring mission to review the impacts of the Gibe III dam, other planned hydro-electric developments and associated large-scale irrigation projects in the Omo region on the Outstanding Universal Value (OUV) of Lake Turkana National Parks World Heritage property in Kenya. SaafConsult has provided expert services in this process.

Livelihood Support & Promotion of Small Community Infrastructure Project – LACIP Pakistan
Major objectives of LACIP project implemented in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Province, Pakistan are: (i) increased access to and sustainable utilization of social and economic infrastructure by the population of the project region, (ii) increased employment and income opportunities, especially for the poor, and (iii) strengthening local civil society organizations and enhance their participation in decision-making processes in their environment at local level. SaafConsult has provided the following services: assessment of the quality, financial and quantity compliance of the rural infrastructure provided by the project; impact analysis of project interventions; revision of the Management Information System; enhancement of data collection methodology and introduction of automated data collection systems.

Provision of IWRM expert for IWM-IP-SEGP for Building Community Resilience through Integrated Water Management
The purpose of this assignment is to develop a bankable project proposal that addresses the problems of the Halda River ecosystem and its sustainable management. This proposal needs to be designed based on the concept note and available feasibility studies and other published literature. The proposal is for submission of the Sustainable Water Fund of the Netherlands government.

PPTA – Punjab Intermediate Cities Improvement Investment Program
PICIIP investment program supports Government of Punjab’s phased approach to urban development, focusing on broad urban reforms, followed by improvements in urban institutions, and finally investments in infrastructure. SaafConsult, jointly with its consortium partners from Pakistan, has been contracted for consulting services to the Programme, Tranche 1. Consultancy ensures tranche readiness, early delivery of key infrastructure and nonphysical outputs, and enhanced local government and municipal utilities capacity and performance. This includes studies and assessment reports supporting strategic planning and investments in Sahival and Sialkot.
